Laras is built offline-first. This page explains, plainly, what stays on your device and what (if anything) ever leaves it.
Your account, learning progress, quiz results, writing submissions, speaking recordings, and settings are stored in a local database on this phone. None of it is uploaded anywhere by default — there are no ads and no third-party analytics or trackers in this app.
Speaking practice and voice commands (speech recognition) use your phone's own on-device recognizer, and Listening audio (text-to-speech) is generated on-device too. Your voice recordings and generated audio never leave this device for these features to work.
If this app is configured to connect to a central server (for course content updates or cross-device account sync), that connection is set up by whoever runs your installation. Course content sync only mirrors learning material, never your personal data. Account sync, when enabled, only sends what's needed to keep your account and progress consistent across your own devices.
Because Laras works fully offline, there's no email-based password reset. The recovery code shown once when you create your account is the only way to regain access if you forget your password — store it somewhere safe.
